I’ve have been using the Clarisonic’s Mia for a few years and had only recently been introduce to Foreo’s Luna Mini through BzzAgent. In short, BzzAgent is a company who introduces new products for consumers to try either for free or for a discounted rate. We weren’t paid anything to promote or to discuss this product. We actual paid for this product and of course we get to keep it.
The Mia is at least double the size of the Luna Mini and twice as heavy. Luna Mini comes in Magenta, Petal Pink, Purple, Cool Gray and Turquoise Blue. Mia also comes in 5 colors, White, Garnet, Pink, Gray, and Purple. I like the colors for the Luna Mini more, I love bright colors. Some of the colors for the Mia are too dull.
Bristle Brush vs Silicone Brush:
The Mia uses a bristle brush heads that you have to replace approximately every 3 months while the Luna Mini uses smooth silicone touch-points as the brush and it does not require any changes. The bristle brush heads targets different skin type and they cost $25 each. While the Luna Mini does not require any additional brushes.
The smooth, rounded silicone touch-points offers a gentler alternative compare to most of the bristled brushes. Though the ones targeted for sensitive skin for the Mia is almost just as good. The silicone is nonporous, it doesn’t absorb and harbor daily grime or bacteria built up from each use while the bristle brushes can therefore it requires more cleaning care. Each time I finish using the Mia I had to squeeze the excess water out and run water through it thoroughly to keep it clean. The area under the brush head also collects dirty stuff over time and requires cleaning. The Mia only needs a quick rinse to keep it clean.
Both facial cleansing device uses a transdermal sonic pulsation to unclog my pores from dirt and makeup leaving a healthier and cleaner skin. However, the Luna Mini also targets toward eliminating the causes of blemishes. My skins are acne prone so this function targets my skin type. I think it’s better for me.
The Mia and Luna Mini are both rechargeable and waterproof which makes it convenient to use in the shower. Both devices are set to completely cleanse the face in 1 minute. The Luna Mini have pauses in between sections to remind you to move on to the next section of the face and have 2 speeds while the Mia is one speed and doesn’t contain any pauses. The Luna Mini also have a feature to delicately cleanse the under eye region that the Mia had not considered. I love this feature. However, Clarisonic does have a separate device, Opal for the under eye. Overall, I like the Luna Mini more.
Clarisonic Mia Retail – $125 (Brought it at Sephora with a 15% off coupon.)
Foreo Luna Mini – $139 (Instead of the retail price of $139, I paid $39 to try it. Pretty sweet deal, right?)
Price wise, the Luna Mini is slightly more expensive. They don’t really go on sale, best way to get it is with coupons. (I currently have some 35% off coupons for the Luna Mini if anyone wants it, just ask!)
Here is a YouTube video of me demonstrating how to use the product. Please leave comments letting me know what you think!
