OMG! I can’t believe I haven’t post anything in over a month. On top of that, I haven’t been going to a nail salon for Calgel in over 3 months.
Instead of going to my usual spot, Sakura Nail Spa, Seouldiva told me about this new place that opened up around Soho, Marie Nails. They have a few locations in LA and this is their first location in NYC! So excited to try this new place out!
The prices were fair and cheaper then Sakura which gives it a plus. They don’t charge for Calgel removal, which is another plus. Though the location is very small and have only two nail stations and two pedicure stations, it’s very intimate. They still have to finish setting the place up since they only opened up 2 weeks ago.
This was the design I was set on getting. I end up doing a close replica of it.
Sayo, the nail technician did 2 layer of Clear Calgel on all the nails first before starting on my design. For the ring fingers, we use silver glitter as the base and holograms on top of it in random order. Then she started using a Teal color for the pinkies.
Sayo was very neat and precise in getting all the spots. We baked a few fingers under the UV Light at a time.
We end up using the Blue for the middle finger, Fushia for the index finger and Purple for the thumb. I didn’t want to mix new colors since they already have so many to choose from and I didn’t want to spend the extra money.
Sayo draw stars in the exact spots as the original design and after that a thick coat of Clear Calgel and regular top coat. Voila! A finish design and is my favorite. It cost $70, which at Sakura will probably cost $90.
This is Sayo and she did a great job! I will definitely come back here for a new set. Probably sometime late next month.
